My computer calendar had a reminder on it today
Thursday 17th July .......mum hospital (my mum's third operation on her right knee since she retired 5 years ago)
18 months after her knee replacement she still can't walk further than a couple of hunfred feet without a stick or a crutch. She feels depressed because after years of pain she had hoped to be able to walk without pain again, to be able to do all the things she has always loved to do. but o far she is no better now than she was a month a week after her op.
On monday my mum attended the Hospital for her pre op appointment, xrays, bloodtests etc. But not long after returning home she got a call telling her that the op scheduled for today was being postponed until 31st July. Mum had arrangements in place for taking her to hospital, collecting her and home care but now the date has changed she will need me to collect her from hospital and stay with her.
These things can't be helped but it does mean that mum will still be in pain for another two weeks.

fingers crossed for your mum x
thanks Mei
Oh your poor mum!!
I know the frustration!
My grandmother had to have heart surgery last year, they were supposed to fix 3 points on her heart, only repaired two.
It wasn't until just 2 months ago they FINALLY got the job done.
All the best for a speedy and healthy recovery xoxo
have you mum check out
some intereting videos on modern knee replacement surgeries you can watch
knee replacement videos
some good info about post op pain management and rehab. Stuff like that
Here's wishing her luck!
Argh, so frustrating for her! Here's hoping the next one proceeds as planned...
Fingers crossed babe, I go for my pre-op in the 31st so I will be thinking of her and you..xx
