My boy went for his medical today for the RAF and didn't pass. There is nothing mentally or physically wrong with him. He has never had any major illnesses. He has never had asthma or fits or any such thing. He has never broken a bone indeed he has never had to go into hospital for any reason. I don't remember the last time I had to take him to visit the family Doctor.
So why did he not pass?
Because he doesn't weigh enough!!
He has to put on 1.5kg before he can be accepted.
How does a naturally fit but skinny boy (who eats all the wrong foods) put on weight quickly?

protein shakes that weight builders use, but doing no weight lifting!!Can be got from Argos, is expensive but works according to weight lifting son, who interestingly has decided to try for the RAF himself.....
xx
He wants to put on muscle mass / weight not just weight. Otherwise he'll just lose it once he begins training and be back at square one trying to gain it all back and then some.
Working out with a relatively high protein diet. Multiple meals per day.
Look up the 100 pull-up challenge, 200 squat challenge and 200 push-up challenge. All good things to do.
yep, what they said, The boy is eating FISH, and weight lifting, PROTEIN is the key !
LOl
I agree. Lots of protein and exercise to build up muscle mass.
I wish I had that problem.
Tell him to Google Michael Phelps diet, that should give him some good ideas about what to eat.
Oh man......
Protein--multiple times a day. And supplement shakes with it, maybe?
Or.....lots and lots of pizza. LOL Pepperoni of course (more protein......)
How disappointing for him. Chin up and down the hatch with the protein!
Protein! N1S did that to bulk up when he started playing rugby and it has made a big difference. I would advise caution with use of the protein shakes long term, there is no evidence that this is safe and some evidence that there may be a link to certain cancers. However, they are thought to be safe for short term (several months),use.
