We thought it was going to be the opportunity of a life time.
Monday evening ET was feeling disheartened. He didn't believe he could do it, he felt he was too shy to talk to adults on the phone. We had a long heart to heart, I did my best to build up his confidence, to encourage him to believe in himself, be positive.
Tuesday morning he phoned me to let me know that he had met the guy for a lift into work to be told that they had decided they didn't need an extra person they could manage without him.
He was a little relieved but mostly he was upset.
He didn't have a chance to see if he could get the hang of what they wanted. He is not stupid he is a bright lad, just very shy.
So now we start again

shame about that. keeping fingers crossed he gets another opportunity xx
OH that's horrid for the boy as he'd started to psyche himself up to do it.
Better luck next time.
xx
Dam and bugger, how unfair to take him on only for one day.....
My Sam is desperately looking for a job after finishing college and deciding that he didnt wanna go to Uni - he thought it would be easy to find a job WRONG.... and like you, I loose me family allowance and a few other bits and bobs now he has left education.... and his 45 quid a week dole money just dont cut the mustard....
Fingers crossed for both our lads in the new year aye.....

That's shocking that they didn't tell him till he got his lift!!!!
So sorry for him hon xx
Aw Lady that's so wrong to do that to someone....xxx
N2S is super shy too! You won an honourable mention on my WW this week. xo
Mei I think he has come to the conclusion he would be better off going to college.
Fire with a little tender care from his mummy he is surviving.

you just can't tell them can you. They have to learn for themselves. But it is harder when their choices affect the finances of the rest of the family.
I hope both our lads get sorted soon.

I think the way they did it came as a shock to him.
Unfortunately in life not everyone knows how to treat others properly.

it would be bad enough for an adult but a young boy!!!

Well--pfooey.
Back to the drawing board.
Yaknow, there must be something different awaiting the kiddo. I do hope it finds him soon.
*hugs*
He is incredibly shy, beyond belief, around adults that he doesn't know. And yes, cheeky, incredibly sweet and cheeky, around adults he does know. Do you know, he still won't take a taxi on his own becuase he doesn't want to have to talk to the driver? Bless him. Love him all up. He is a young version of hsi father.
