Trying not to dance

The day started off a little badly, not terrible but not as it should have done.

My alarm didn't go off as it should have done, so I overslept (although some of the credit for that goes to the blogger I was chatting to on msn until I fell asleep). It seems that ET had turned my radio alarm off yesterday instead of letting it switch off on its own at 8am as it does every day. So at 7.30 I left the house a few minutes late only to discover that my car was not parked in its usual place. When will I learn???

Last night DC was going into the City with his work mates. His car was untaxed so I said he could borrow mine if he got a few bits of shopping for me first. He said he wouldn't drink and would be home early. Oh really!!! So why was it that when I rang him he was 'just leaving'.

Just leaving!!! Just leaving where??

The City and not just the city but the part furthest away and in the rush hour!!!!!

He finally arrived home with my car at 8.20 when I should have been at work before 8.00am. I finally got there at 9am. I'm not worried that I will have to make up the time though. I am always early, only take 30 mins for lunch and nearly always work 30 + mins later than I am meant to.

Anyway my day got better, mid morning I was given a piece of cherry and coconut cake (don't tell Trixie). One of our temporary temps makes cakes for a cafe and brought some in. It was very nice even if I am trying to be good.

But the best was saved for later.

Mid afternoon I was asked to look after the phones. As I returned to my desk from a foray into accounts NL was asked to go to the boardroom for a moment. I had an idea what that was about but was still suprised when he returned to his desk, put his coat on and was gone. so the deed has been done, my main source of stress in last few months has gone at last.

So I am trying hard not to DANCE, I want to dance and sing and show how happy I am. Less stress, less work, less frustration, less complaints.

Just to top that I have just been given an envelope containing £500 cash. DC is trying to sell his car and buy another cheaper one. The seller wasn't there today when DC had his day off but will be there tomorrow when DC will be working until 5pm. So good old mum has to go put a deposit on it for him or maybe even pay for it. Generously DC has said I can keep the extra £5. Now what shall I spend it on?

What the hell

I really do not understand what goes through his head if anything at all.

What the hell can he be thinking of when he does this?

Last night I fell asleep on the sofa writing my post about my fears regarding meeting Romeo at long last. Work is still hectic, although I was banned from doing the day to day work so that I could concentrate on my Scotland project. Romeo was texting me on and off through out which was nice. But at the end of the day I was tired and yet again I fell asleep with my laptop on my knees.

I woke up at around 1.30am then after a quick visit to the bathroom thought I would finish writing my post before going to bed. The TV was still on as DC had left it after watching Saving Private Ryan again. I became engrossed in watching something called 'Bones'. when a chat window opened up asking me what I was doing? ..........watching tv. LV had also not long ago woken up. We chatted for a while, I had finished my post by this time. I fell asleep again and woke up when my alarm went off in my handbag (I use the alarm on my mobile). so finally at 5.50am I went to bed.

I woke at 9am but dozed off again for a while before pottering around having a lazy morning. When I decided it was time to go shopping I had a shock........

walking down the footpath towards the road I couldn't see my car!!

I knew that DC had gone out earlier, but his car was still parked in the road. It didn't take long before I was on the phone to ask him wtf he was playing at. I figure he thought he would save fuel by using my car. The other lads confirmed that they thought he had gone to the gym so that means at least an hour but he had been gone for a while already.

By 4pm I still hadn't heard from him even though I had called his mobile several times. It was either in the locker or he had left it in the car. He very rarely answers his phone when I call him. I rang princess (his g/f) to see if he had gone to visit her after she finished work. But she didn't know where he was either.

Finally he turned up at about 4.45pm I was soooo not impressed. I asked him where he had been........

'to the gym'

'not for 3 hours you haven't . .............we have been waiting over 2.5 hours to go shopping '

'oh I went into town on the way back'

'so what was going through your mind when you took my car without asking and you had no idea what my plans were'

'sorry'

He wouldn't tell me what he thought he was doing just kept saying sorry and laughing. I have told him that his penance is to wash up everything in the kitchen. (they are always arguing over the washing up and it just gets stacked higher and higher until I give in and do it). I then took JA shopping with me. Whilst we were there I decided to treat us to the mini haagen dazs. There is an offer of 4 for £5 so I bought one each for myself, JA,ET and OJ not for DC he doesn't deserve any. Oh and before I went out I put his car keys in my handbag along with the spare keys to my car. .......petty maybe but he makes me so cross sometimes and he doesn't take it seriously. Everything is just a big joke to him the selfish boy that he is. I know he is 20 now but he doesn't behave much like a responsible adult.

Yet again I feel that I am getting close to telling him he has to move out. He has been told that he is on the at risk list at work for those likely to be made redundant in September. Has he done anything about looking for another job no .............he will wait until he has no job and his redundancy money (he's lucky his company are paying him anything as he hasn't been there 2 years) has run out. He is a lovely lad but he thinks of no one but himself and his band. He is certainly the most selfish out of my boys. I really don't understand him. I know I sometimes do selfish things but I do at least think about how it will affect others before I do it. I am not sure that he even thinks about how his actions affect anyone else.

Its a mystery tour

Walking down the footpath towards the road I can see my car, small and silver, nice and shiny except the plodge of bird muck high on the passenger window. It is parked in the layby at the end of the path looking all sparkly but it wasn't right. I shouldn't have been able to see it where I had parked it last night.

Getting in I had to adjust the seat as my short arms and legs were having to stretch more than is normal. Seat back in the right place I pull out of the layby then indicate right making sure there is nothing coming down the road on the left, you have to almost pull out into the middle of the road to see whats coming and the cars parked all down the other side don't help. Facing down the road now I see children playing on the grass between the church and the vicarage on the corner under the trees that line the railway cutting. Turning left and then almost immediately right my fourth turn in not much more than 100 yds. Onto the main road now, the one that I always think of as being a straight road for most of its 1.5 mile length but it actually has a lot of bends in it. In the mornings I turn left heading towards the north of the town then down onto the motorway but today I'm going right, over the railway bridge, as I pass the petrol station I notice that it is now £116.9 for unleaded and £130 for deisel.

It is only as my car begins to climb the slight hill that I realise that radio 1 is blasting out of my stereo. I can't be doing with this, depressing the small button I change it to my cd. Thats better now I have the song that some of the BB contestants had to sing during the Karaoke a couple of days ago. Total eclipse of the heart. Resisting the urge to sing along I swing my little car around a few more bends before reaching the traffic lights at the end of the road. Waiting for the lights to change thinking about the mystery. There can be no other explanation, parked in the wrong place, my seat moved, the stereo set to radio 1..............DC must have borrowed my car, but when and why. He has had the key for his car since wednesday evening so he has no reason to use mine. By the time the lights have changed one of my favourite songs has come on. Singing at the top of my voice now I am your lady this song always make me think of Romeo. I am his woman and he is my man, we're heading for something, somewhere I've never been.

Gliding down the hill towards the village where Shakespear spent much of his time, I notice that at the top of the opposite hill I can just see the roof nestled among the trees of the hotel that got hit by lightening the day before it was due to be full of tourist visiting The Festival of the Sea.

Arriving in the village to collect the child who rang me earlier because whilst climbing trees he ripped his trousers. Ripped his trousers!! ok I thought maybe a tear in the knee ot perhaps he has split the seam, but nothing prepared me for the sight that met me when I saw him. If his sports trousers hadn't been lined then he would have been completely exposed. It looked more like he was wearing a skirt with splits up the back and front. Guess who is going to be having a sewing lesson tonight.
