benefits of blogging

As you know I was out socialising with fellow bloggers last saturday evening. Bloggers who hadn't just nipped down the road for a drink. I think most of you now know that it was Fat Controller and his lovely wife (and subject of his HNT pictures as well as his very well written tales of love within a marriage) Heather. Fat controller and Heather live in her native country but visit the UK from time to time. So last week they were over here having a well earned break in the depths of North Wales before visiting his family via a stop over with Trixie.

Before leaving Trixie they were entrusted with a parcel for me. So you see even if they hadn't really wanted to meet me they had no choice. Trixie had decided that they would make a very good substitute as a carrier firm. As I live en route from Trixie to FC's family it made sense. However I hadn't been apraised of this. It wasn't until we were about to part company that I was told they were holding a package for me. This package (ok so it wasn't wrapped but who cares) turned out to be a book that Trixie had promised to send to me 2 months ago. Trixie herself had come by this book as a gift from Fire Byrd who inturn had received it as a gift from Queen Vixen. I am now half way through this book (started reading sunday morning and couldn't put it down until I was forced to). When Fire Byrd sent this book to Trixie it was with the instructions that she should pass it on to another blogger when she had finished it. So now it is in my possession and I have instructions to pass it on to another blogger when I am done with it. Now let me see who should I send it too next? Let me know if you want it.

Isn't it funny the way blogging connects us in so many ways. I was rather amused when FC mentioned (when we were talking about English food he might miss ........... he can get most things) that he and their son have become addicted to this and its all my fault. I had done a post about them ages ago (I can't even begin to remember where on here). My first thought was that they would be disgusting but DC persuaded me to try a bite and I am now hooked. I try to avoid them but sometimes needs must ............I am sure FC agrees. Have you ever read a post about something you had never seen or thought about ...........tried it and become hooked?

If you didn't know what book I was talking about it was this one.

Chocolate

All week I have been good. There has been no bread, pastry, no sweet things.

All week I have had my bowl of cereal in the morning. For two days I have allowed myself one single snack a jack cake (didn't realise they were cakes) during the long morning between breakfast at 6.30 and lunch at close on 2pm.

Lunch this week has consisted of 3 x crackers with low fat cottage cheese followed by a snack size low fat yoghurt.

Dinner this week has consisted of jacket potato and cauliflower cheese on monday. cottage pie on tuesday and on wednesday jacket potato, cheese and beans.

Today though has been different.

Today I had my early morning cereal then nothing until I got home at 2.15 and treated myself to a wholemeal cheese and onion sandwich followed by 3 squares (if you can call them squares) of galaxy chocolate.

After the last few days I deserve chocolate and after all I did buy it for medicinal purposes. Slowly sucking a square of milk chocolate coats and soothes my throat, which in turn eases my coughing so that I can catch up on some much needed sleep.

wednesday wanderings

After the excitement of riding in the imo on monday I spent tuesday evening taking JA to a special house belonging to ther police so he can give a video statement. It seems he is a crucial witness in a case that they can't tell us about. I have my suspicions from the little that I ahve gathered. JA doesn't know anything but can confirm whether certain people were in a certain place at a certain time.

tonight was yet again different in that I spent 1 1/2hrs at the school for parents evening with ET. Apparentlyhe is predicted Cin most subjects but most teachers also said with some extra work he could easily acheive B.

I have recently come to a realisation
I have realised that I am more at peace with myself now than I have been for as long as I can remember. In the past week or so my phone has been fairly silent. the only people who have been ringing or texting me are the loan companies. But I am fine with that. For the last couple of years I ahve needed to be incontact with someone all the time whether its by msn or text. But now I realise I don't need that . I was thinking about it and realised that what I was doing before was craving affirmation from my friends that I am popular with them, I am worthy of their attention.
Why do I not need that so much now?
Because I don't need the constant attention to make me believe I am good. I can believe in myself now. I can look myself in the eye (in the mirror obviously) and say to myself........ LIR you are someone and you are worthwhile.

I did a test earlier on facebook to see what kind of chocolate I would be. this is their verdict

White chocolate because you’re both regal and velvety smooth. You speak, walk, and talk a good game and people are rewarded with your smooth and inviting persona. Some find you to be a rare gem among the landscape of sweets, almost like the hidden treasure that only a select few know about. People may not necessarily crave you ALL the time, but when they are in the mood for white chocolate, they will damn near sell an organ for a taste of you. Or donate an organ. A big organ ;)
