This has got to stop now!!!

Work was quite busy this afternoon but instead of processing orders, oh ok as well as processing orders I was doing something that was not work related.

During my 30 minute lunch break I checked my email account that I used when I registered with ebay. (The same account I use for my blog, so if I am slow to reply to any emails or messages it is because I don't check that account every day......Mei that is why I misses your original email). I had a squint at my ebay account as I was watching a couple of laptops. One of them was going to end whilst I was still at work, the highest bid had gone up quite a bit from my last bid but it was still a very good price. So I increased my bid which was immediately out bid as someone had put a higher highest bid in place. so over the next two hours I kept an eye on this increasing my bid very gradually until the other bids stopped so at 4.25pm I became the winner in the bid for an Acer Aspire for the huge sum of £190.00 plus postage.

This Acer Aspire 3694WLMi has got everything. That's what it's got. Everything.

Widescreen.... DVD Writer.... WiFi.... Card Reader.... 512Mb RAM And more.....

Let's start with the lid. Yes, the lid! Even that's a feature. The classy black finish will have you finding yourself just stroking it.... any excuse to touch it!

Open it up and the 15.4" Widescreen is one to behold. With Acer's CrystalBrite technology you can be sure everything displays in only the truest, crispest colours.

The INTEL Celeron M 440 processor can handle task after task after task. Clocking in at an impressive 1.86Ghz it makes life a breeze.

Couple this with 512Mb RAM and an 80Gb Hard Drive, and you'll be left wanting for nothing.

The wireless network can be used to easily access other networks and high-speed mobile internet access when you are on the go. Wireless networks are becoming more and more common these days, so it's a nice capability to have built into your machine.

A Dual Layer DVD RW Drive compliments the high power perfectly.

This laptop is broadband ready - just plug in the modem supplied by your ISP into the USB port on side of the laptop and off you go - it's super easy with XP, a couple of minutes and you'll be away - no nasty or complicated settings. Alternatively, use the integrated hi-speed wireless network to simply and easily access a wireless network.

There's even a partition on the hard drive which has an installation image allowing you to burn your own Recovery CDs in the event of the dreaded "crash"!

The unit is supplied ready to use with Windows Vista Home along with a guaranteed authentic Microsoft License. The Power Supply Unit/Battery Charger is also included.
Buy in confidence and save £££s at the same time...

It might not be brand new but I think I got a good deal. So now the boys think they should have a laptop so I have a bid on a DEll D400 at the moment £26 and I am currently the highest bidder with 1hr 4mins to go. I am only doing this as I got the Acer Aspire for under £200. I have made myself a promise that if this one goes over £50 I shall drop out. This spending has got to stop as I got this loan to pay off some of my debts not but luxuries.

Oh and on the subject of internet problems it seems that it is the USB ports that were not working. Last night I made a passing comment that perhaps we could try using the old PC that was sitting in the corner since we stopped using it as it was sooooo slow. We could see if it worked. I didn't think anything more of it. But when I got home frome work walked into my room and was a little annoyed that someone had used my computer and left it on. I logged onto my setting and instead of a screen full pictures of Romeo there was a big picture of our cat Nipper. Grrrr someone is going to be in trouble for messing with my settings. Then I noticed the PC tower at the side of my bed. Investigating further I realise that someone has connected the old computer and yes the wireless adapter icon is showing. I managed to connect to internet but very low conectivity so I just played spider and checked out the pictures on here (deleted a few risque ones too). ET wandered into my room asking about the internet, a few clicks later and yes I had a 'very good' connection. Isn't he a clever boy. So here I am connected to internet again. Vi I know I kept forgetting to answer your question about our provider. We are with Orange but I don't think that was our problem this time.

Back on line

finally I am back.

I had just got out of the shower this morning when there was an insistent knocking on my front door. It was the BT engineer wanting to drill a hole through my lounge wall, that done he was stood in my "flower bed" more shrubs than flowers these days trying not to get caught up on the 3' aloe vera that was in his way. I ran back upstairs trying to rouse OJ from his lie in (college finished on friday for the hols) then into my room to get dressed. I had been about to get ready for work.
When I got to work I got a call from OJ to check that the telephone line was working and didnt have any of the usual crackles. Oh what it is to be crackle less after years of varying degrees of crackles. All those years we kept buying new phones because we thought it was a problem with the phones now we know it was the cable.

When I got home from work (half day today to use up my hols) I spent the next 2 hrs or so getting the internet on both computers.

I have to go to the gym now so will catch up with everyone later

no internet

just a quick post to let you know that I have no internet at the moment so I am using Harvey's computer while he has a quick shower.

Hope fully I will get my connection sorted very soon.

It appears to be a fault on the telephone line.
